We are pleased to invite you to “Cose che non si devono pensare, cose che si possono dire sul design” (Things you shouldn’t think, things you can say about design), an event organized by IAAD in the context of the Bologna Design Week and on occasion of the partnership between IAAD and Treemme Rubinetterie, a renowned operator in the field of taps and fittings and bathroom furnishings. In the beautiful setting of IAAD Bologna, two internationally renowned designers of the caliber of Stefano Giovannoni, President of IAAD’s Product Design Department, and Davide Adriano, Strategic Director of IAAD’s Product Design Department, will be the prestigious speakers discussing the evolution of the profession of designer.
Stefano Giovannoni Biography
Stefano Giovannoni was born in La Spezia and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in 1978. He is an industrial designer, interior designer and architect, and he created numerous best sellers and very successful products that have earned him the titles of “Campione del Super & Popular degli anni 2000” (Alberto Alessi), “Re Mida del Design” (Cristina Morozzi), “Most bankable designer” (Eugenio Perazza, Magis).
He has collaborated with companies such as Alessi, of which he is the first designer with more than 300 products in steel and plastic (he designed, among others, the “Girotondo” series, one of the absolute best sellers in the history of design-oriented companies, with more than 10 million products sold), Magis (for which he designed, among others, the stool “Bombo”, the most copied product in the history of design), Amore Pacific, Artsana, Bertazzoni, Deborah, Elica, Fiat, Henkel, Honeywell, L’Oreal – Maletti, Meglio, Moooi, Nestlé-Frisco, Nissan, NTT Docomo, Olivari, Oregon Scientific, Pulsar, Replay, Samsung, Seiko, Siemens, Skitsch, Sodastream, SPC, Star, Telecom, Toto, 3M, Tubes, and many others.
Since early 2016, Stefano Giovannoni has been dealing with his new company, Qeeboo, a new generation Italian brand, a new way of producing and distributing design. He also works as Art Director for Ghidini1961 – a leading company in the production of brass objects – and another important project concerning food-design. Winner of numerous prizes and competitions, his works are exhibited at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris and the MOMA in New York.
Davide Adriano Biography
He was born in Cuneo in 1968, Davide Adriano is a graduate in Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he was an adjunct Professor at from 1997 to 2009. He has also been a Guest Professor for the degree course in Industrial Design at the University of Florence and a member of the Territorial Observatory ADI. His projects have received numerous national and international prizes and awards, reports and publications.In 1998 he founded, with his brother Gabriele, “Adriano Design”, a company active in development of innovative design projects, many of which then went into regular production.
