Marina is an advocate for ethical fashion on a global scale, communicating values of sustainability in international circles that are both governmental and academic. She has deep roots in fashion, having established her own brand and collaborated with Ferragamo, Prada, Miu Miu, Marni and Aspesi as a style consultant.
Sustainable projects include the creative direction of Auteurs du Monde, the fair trade brand created for Altro Mercato with the cooperation of artisans around the world belonging to the WFTO. She has worked on United Nations projects in Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Egypt.
Marina has been the Italian national coordinator of Fashion Revolution since 2014 and a professor of ethical fashion at prestigious academies in Italy and abroad. Her work has always included a strong focus on social and environmental justice, promoting the concept that ethics and aesthetics can coincide. Marina’s motto is “Fashion with a Mission” – using fashion to bring development to emerging countries.
She received the Women Together Award at the United Nations in New York in 2015 and has participated in three TEDx Talks on sustainable fashion. In 2020 she wrote the book “The Revolution Begins in Your Closet” with Luisa Ciuni, published by Solferino Libri.
