This is a table that is used as a tool to create connections between people. It can be used for dinners, activities, workshops, discussions, and much more. In fact, many activities are organized around this Community Table. It is defined as follows: “The Community Table is part of The Social Hub events program, offering a place for guests to meet like-minded members and changemakers”.

Each Social Hub location has a Community Table, and we are always open to new interpretations of how it can be used and changed to create a community and facilitate dialogue. The Social Hub will hold a design workshop in which students will design and conceptualize a Community Table (which may not necessarily be a table, but perhaps another more functional object) that is ideal for fostering dialogue between different cultures, nationalities, and people with different ideas. The goal is to promote inclusivity and contribute to the creation of a community. The idea is to start with a survey on how this tool has been used differently over the years and throughout history in various cultures to create communities, resolve conflicts, and celebrate. From there, we will explore how to design a Community Table of the future where people can interact optimally.

Curated by Gabriele Rosa and Alberto Piazzalunga

THE SOCIAL HUB

We’re creating space for everything that’s truly important; a commitment that’s an extension of our purpose to create a better society.
