Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design – IAAD presents the results of the sixth edition of IAAD TURIN DESIGN WORKSHOP, a system of synergistic workshop organized annually between the first and second semester.

TURIN METROPOLITAN CITY is the broad theme that Design Workshop set out to investigate, in 6 synergistic workshop attended by about 250 students – from IAAD, Écoles de Condé (IAAD partner) from the headquarters in Lyon, Paris, Nice, Nancy, Bordeaux, and a delegation of Israeli students from Tiltan College (Haifa – Israel).
Turin is engaged in a major reorganization that involves all levels of administration, as well as his own position in the global economy.

Without a creative thought, without a broad involvement – said the Director of Torino Strategica Anna Pratthese change processes do not occur. For this reason we are particularly pleased and grateful for the opportunity offered to us by IAAD to dedicate this year’s workshop to this theme and I think this could work out ideas that will be very useful.

In particular – the Councillor Ilda Curti added – about the metropolitan city on the one hand we need to have suggestions on how to hold together the scale of services that we give to the territory and the scale of the networks – not only physical, infrastructural, but are also the neural networks of thought, of connection and knowledge – and then we also need suggestions on change, on development. A metropolitan area like ours, very wide and very uneven, needs to be thought projected in time. We can not imagine to plan for tomorrow and the day after if we have no idea what will be in 10, 20 years, taking into account that the process of change is faster than the ability of our decision and our institutional architectures.

These titles of 6 workshops:
• QUALITY URBAN – by Federico De Giuli
• URBAN AGRICULTURE – by Martina Doglio Cotto
• SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND NOW – by Masato Inoue
• SMART WELFARE – TECHNOLOGIES FOR WELLNESS – by Marco Benna
• NO MORE, NOT AGAIN – by Andrea Bozzo
• I(n)spiraTO – by Vladimir Soto and Mali Alon

The results, presented to the Municipality of Turin Friday, February 20 from 14.30 at GAM in the conference moderated by Laura Milani, IAAD Director, will be commented by Valentino Castellani – Deputy President of Torino Strategica.
