Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design and the Institute of Higher Education Galilei-Ferrari of Turin signed an agreement for the construction of an innovative pilot-project: for the first time a course in “Design of cars and motorcycles” in the specialization course in mechanical and mechatronics of a high school.

Different skills and objectives, IAAD designed the course in “Design of cars and motorcycles” of Galilei Ferrari, identifying teachers among its best new graduates of the Department of Transportation design.

Michele Bavaro, collaborator Suzuki Automobiles R & D Center and Ld’a design, and Massimo Bertoletti, designers at the Centro Stile Lamborghini, are the teachers of the ambitious new course of study.

Galilei-Ferrari uses the more than 35 years of experience in the formation of IAAD Transportation design to enrich its course in Mechanical, Mechatronics and Energy, entering the teaching of design as a hub of innovation. Professionalism and culture of design are the cornerstones of public-private collaborative experimentation and upper-university who approached constructively the two realities.

“An intelligent collaboration and virtuous – confirms Laura Milani, IAAD Director – In a competitive market, clarifying the prospects of study for the benefit of professional achievement is a certainly enlightened goal and enjoyed by families and young students.”

Mariagrazia Pellerino, Councillor Educational Policies of the City of Turin, commented on the collaboration between IAAD and Galilei-Ferrari: “Turin University City, is now one of the established identity profiles of our city: not only two Institutes of high quality but a real system of higher education in which IAAD is one of excellence that makes Turin increasingly attractive as a place of learning. The collaborative project between IAAD and Galilei-Ferrari represents very well the approach of “educational chain” on which we invested as Municipal Administration in recent years in order to have an effective coordination between the various segments that make up the training. This approach is useful to each student to make him discover his talents but it is also a lever to multiply and give a frame to educational resources available in the area. “

“The agreement IAAD – IIS Galilei Ferrari – concludes Anna Luisa Chiappetta, Headmaster of IIS Galilei-Ferrari – comes from reflection on a new course of study that represents a significant synthesis of the basic characteristics of our school: the vocation to experimentation and teaching workshop as already demonstrated by the successful application of the ‘curvature’ of the programs towards Robotics; the study of mechanics in its various aspects, from design to drawing, from the choice of materials to the construction of prototypes, the opening to the territory with the support of local authorities, collaboration with universities and companies in the industry for the construction and completion of the paths in alternating training. Certain that the initiative will be greeted with the same interest of last year by students and families, we continue with enthusiasm for a training offer increasingly rich and qualifying.”

The press conference will be presented by:
Mariagrazia Pellerino – Councillor Educational Policies and President of ITER
Laura Milani – IAAD Director
Anna Luisa Chiappetta – Headmaster of IIS Galilei-Ferrari.
