Architect and designer, Cibic is considered one of the most influential Italian creatives of his generation. He began his career when he was very young and entered the studio of Ettore Sottsass, with whom he founded the Sottsass & Associati studio. He participated in the creation of the Memphis group, the revolutionary collective of designers who radically transformed the world design scene in the 80s.
In 1989 he created Cibic & Partners, a well-known architecture and design firm that today operates all over the world, ranging from architecture to interiors, design and multimedia. He’s also the founder of CibicWorkshop, a laboratory dedicated to design and research activity where the individual becomes the cornerstone, along with a complex system of relationships and the constant propensity for change. He collaborates with Lombardini 22, a leading group in the field of architecture and engineering that includes the best professionals in different disciplines related to design.
Cibic is an honorary professor at Tongji University in Shanghai and has taught in a number of universities, including Domus Academy and Politecnico di Milano in Milan, IUAV in Venice, and UNSAM Universidad Nacional de San Martìn in Buenos Aires. He has lectured at the Royal College of Art in London, Vassar College in New York state, RISD Rhode Island School of Design, MIT in Boston and Parsons The New School for Design in in New York.
