The Department of "Transportation design", the first in Italy, opened in Turin in 1978 from 2008 is named in memory of Andrea Pininfarina. Today the core programming is built around mobility and its main means of transport.
The master will particularly address the issues of mobility and the main means of transport in an Italian way of conceiving the design, famous around the world.
Mobility, environmental sustainability and means of transport: a complex relationship and fundamental human need now more than ever increasingly connected with the world.
The master is in charge of systems, products and solutions to improve mobility in contemporary society, with particular attention to environmental sustainability.
The system of mobility, transport and its environmental sustainability has, in fact, taken over time, a major role in developing the economy and culture in our country and around the world.

Educational objectives
The educational objectives are intended to ensure:
• high level training in disciplines that characterize the cultural and scientific context of the transport sector
• knowledge of advanced methods and contents of the characterizing training disciplines
• high mastery of techniques and tools specific to the design and manufacture of innovative products in the field of transport, with particular attention to sustainability - the development of a particular sensitivity to the contemporary creative languages and an aptitude update continuous
• the development of innovative attitude that considers social changes, market dynamics and opportunities offered by technological development
• appropriate knowledge on the management of professional input in order to promote a knowledgeable and qualified in the world of work.

General information
• Duration: one year - from Janaury 2012
• Credits: acquisition of a total of 60 credits ECTS - EABHES
• Awards: The master is recognized by EABHES for the attainment of the European Master of Science in Design. It is also sponsored by ANFIA - National Association of Automotive Industries
• Fixed number of students admitted
• Frequency: Monday to Friday, other than seminars and special projects
• Target: graduate in Industrial Design and Automotive Engineering or with a postgraduate diploma in Industrial and Transportation Design; candidates who have gained significant professional experience in the field of transportation. Any other case will be assessed individually.
• Admission: application must be submitted through a personal interview or shipment by mail or email of a motivational letter, curriculum vitae and portfolio; knowledge of the English language is a plus (lessons will be in Italian language).
• Teaching: The teaching is divided into theoretical and practical teaching institutions, seminars, lectures, special projects and thesis, workshops, individual study activities and assisted in training, for a total of 1500 training hours. For each course (field of study) are scheduled midterm and final exams. The course will end with the preparation dissertation of a thesis project.
