  European BACHELOR - European MASTER

E.A.B.H.E.S. (European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools) validates and approves qualifications given by its members and credits them as European Bachelor e Master, by introducing the credits accumulation. EABHES members are high quality level European Universities, certificated for their educational excellence.

Bachelor and Master degrees were originally North American diplomas, in worldwide used and recently introduced in Europe. In order to obtain a qualification of this sort, students must accumulate credits, a credit being a tool, which evaluates the work they have done and the skills they have acquired.

In the European system (EABHES/ECTC credits), 180 credits are required for a Bachelor’s degree. Credits have different values according to the educational system of each country and for each majoring, kind of former studies and courses duration. Students enrolled in accredited institutes can, in some courses, through an equivalent ratings system, have all their subjects credited onto a credit report each year. Since each programme generates a different number of credits depending on the course students initially enrol for, different programmes are allotted a different number of credits.

Master’s degrees are open to students who already have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma. They last one year (1st level master degree – 60 ECTS credits) or two years (2nd level master degree – 120 ECTS credits). Candidate’s admission depends on the standard of their application. Since every school has its own admission standards, candidates may not claim any automatic equivalence.
The level of language spoken in the new school will be taken into account.
Applicants must have a total of 600 points minimum in the TOEIC, or take their test during the year they are studying towards the Master’s degree.
At the end of their European Master’s programme, students must have obtained 60 or 120 ECTS credits, that is a total of 180 + 60/120 ECTS credits for the whole course.

Obtaining credits
1 – Course validation

Students enrolled study a certain number of subjects per year (2 semesters). Each one of these subjects allows them to earn a certain number of credits.
At the end of the academic year, the total number of credits earned is added up and recorded on their annual credit report for each year of study.
By the end of their studies, the course the student initially enrolled for will therefore has allowed them to earn the vast majority of credits required for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Only a few more credits will then be needed to validate the qualifications

2 – Additional credits
Two categories
A- Mandatory English language credits for passing the TOEIC test (8 ECTS credits)
This type of credit is obtained by taking the TOEIC test, which certifies a definite capacity to communicate, and may make extra English lessons necessary. IAAD students can take the test at their own Institute, as it an approved establishment.
This international diploma is recognized throughout the world.

The level of English it certifies is quantified using a points system, ranging from 10 to 990 points. The points corresponding to the 8 mandatory credits are 600/900.
B- Extra credits
- prize gained in an external contest: 4 ECTS credits
- publication of own project in a specialized magazine: 2 ECTS credits
- participation to a seminar: 1 ECTS credit
- participation in a humanitarian project: 2 ECTS credits
- professional internship (max. 5 ECTS credits validable):
- 1 ECTS credit for each week spent in the country of study or birth
- 2 ECTS credits for each week spent abroad
