The Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design –
Torino offers its students the possibility of obtaining a dual degree;
the institute diploma, plus the European Degree, European
Bachelor of Science in Design.
Bachelor degrees were originally North American diplomas. They are now
in worldwide used, and were recently introduced in Europe. They are
qualifications which represent a certain level of knowledge in Higher
Education.
In order to obtain a qualification of
this sort, students must accumulate credits, a credit being a tool
which evaluates the work they have done and the skills they have
acquired. In the European system (EABHES/ECTC credits), 180 credits are
required for a Bachelor’s degree, which corresponds to 120 US credits
in the United States.
