DESCRIPTION OF IAAD PROFESSOR


For IAAD, design is culture of planning.

Today the design represents an interdisciplinary practice suitable to manage and address the process of transition between data-gathering and rundown of a project. Design is a practice able to give meaning, shape and function to products and services, defining moreover ways to communicate the every day expressions, from graphics to advertising, from fashion to technology, from art to industry. Advanced design, once set the target, studies and plans responsibly and consciously the complete cycle of production.

IAAD professor is a contemporary professional who teaches an actual way to think and re-interpret the reality. He’s up-to-date, permanently well informed, constantly comparing with disciplinary principles, rules and regulations. He’s always looking out for cultural contents and new aims.

IAAD professor acts with ethical sense, taking the responsibilities towards his contents and principles. He gives a boost to the students to curiosity and thinking over, he thinks about the project as a way of reasoned expression. He shares the vision of design as “creative science”. Process and information control this vision as such, and they are the base of a method that needs to be managed and checked over.
He stimulates the single and the group work and he’s preoccupied to evolve his ideas, fulfilling the needs that are emerging from the comparison.

IAAD professor has a long professional experience gained in very important companies of design.

He’s available to share and spread the IAAD mission, representing it and making himself deputy of a teaching and professional staff with whom shares "meaning, shape and function", or motivations, behaviours and rules.

IAAD DEPARTMENTS

TRANSPORTATION DESIGN
The skill of matching concept and shape and shape to a style is what enterprises ask today to transportation designers.
The course aims to give instruments to plan a correct relationship between idea and object, taking as fundamental the style aspect. The correspondence of design and context is determining for the training of a complete and aware professional figure.
Planning needs a good knowledge and ability to control theoretical aspects, potentialities and expression means, addressing them to the creation of innovative concepts.
Projectual process starts from a wide reasearch, moves through the exploration of possible scenarios and goes to the contents synthesis, realizing sketchings, virtual and real representations. The course faces conceptual, stylistic, technological and ergonomics aspects, with the aim of proposing advanced design principles, coherent with market and production needs.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Industrial design deals with the concept, study and planning of objects reproducible with serial logics: from high-tech to fashion, from accessory to household appliance, from luxury object to that of everyday use. It moves into the complex relationship between man and matter, developing it according to shapes and innovative functions, thus linking the world of industry to the one of research.
Aim of the course is to train designers able to manage advanced planning logics, inspired by a fresh originality, by a proactive attitude and aware of being to ones who want and know how to create new solutions for present and future times, in a contemporary and responsible way.
The course starts with technical basis, necessary for a first graphic expression, in synthony with the design world and its shapes; form this, simple sketchings will arise, afterwards enriched by complex research and concept evolution proposals. It ends with the study of materials and technologies and the inescapable impact that any new object has on users and environment.

INTERIOR AND FURNITURE DESIGN
This didactic course aims to train specialists able to face problems concerning custom made design of houses, work spaces, public spaces and exhibitions for every kind of users. The planning approach is comprehensive and transversal and embraces stylistic, ergonomic, technological, building, urban and social knowledge. The interdisciplinary and the didactic settings, which aid the education of the interior designers, encourage a double bond between the experimentation of new spaces generated by the comparison of wide collections of knowledge; the project, in fact, never faces simple dimensions of re-interpreted space, but handles with sceneries full of sense of direction, close to their culture, symbolisms and signs. The students, at the end of their didactic program, must be able to use and control methods and advanced cultural media.

ADVERTISING AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
Advertisers of new generation are complex professionals, able to move inside the huge world of communication and advertising - advertising, below the line, packaging, corporate and brand identity, publishing, illustration, web design, multimedia, new media - and inside the one of strategic communication, more oriented towards management roles - account, communication and product responsible, media and strategic planner.
The course trains creative advertisers, dipped into logics and problems of nowadays, able to reproduce and transmit specialized images and messages, through the learning of subjects about graphics, creativity, software packages and elaboration on cultural and strategic aspects, such as marketing communication and media planning.
