Under the artistic direction IAAD, twenty designers includingIAAD students of the Bachelor in “Textile and fashion design” and Walter Dang
were the protagonists of the Torino Fashion Week, the first week of the Turin fashion which ended last night at the MRF – the former industrial area of Mirafiori.
Contamination, experimentation and continuity are the common thread that has accompanied the three fashion shows signed IAAD:
// Creativity Lab – experimental collections in the forms and materials with an artistic allure, provocative and visionary – LungoTavolo, Bruna Martina and Julia Soldà, Feelomena, Monica salad, Fulvio Luparia, IAAD;
// Fabrika – collections ready to market, ready for the production and dissemination, rigorous lines and formal – Lapi, Alberto Audenino, Bekka, Marika Guide, Born in Berlin, HanselGretel;
// New Couture – high contemporary fashion, paying attention to tailoring and fabric choice – Dana Design, Fabio Porliod, Stefania P., Claudine Vincent, Mariateresa Grilli, Aline Sanches, Walter Dang.
Walter Dang presented the most spectacular collection: the Master is again passed, recounting a trip through Latin America from Tijuana to Mexico until arriving at Ushuaia in Argentina, through the villages of Belize, Guatemala and then to arrive in Chile , crossing Ecuador. IAAD students of the Degree in “Textile and Fashion Design Course”, under the guidance of the coordinators of the course Giuseppina Di Paola and Andrea Bruno, have created a collection inspired by the theme of contamination over time and matter out to the catwalk alongside established professionals: 20 outfits made with fabrics from the Lanificio Botto, the Tessitura Valli di Como and Miroglio, contaminated with experimental textures created by the Ecole de Condé Paris students.
Our university – said the Director IAAD Laura Milani – believes in the project culture as an engine of creativity. The Torino Fashion Week was an important opportunity to raise awareness of those situations where tradition meets modernity and reinterprets, where fashion becomes culture and business at the same time. It is the DNA of a Torino made of trained professionals who know how to face and overcome ambitious challenges.
